I found an interesting article by Anderson M. (2016) which I want to include to a content on my blog. This article is very recent and I would say also current. It mostly talks about an election in US and how social media changed people's opinions about candidates and election. 'Overall, 20% of social media users say they’ve modified their stance on a social or political issue because of material they saw on social media, and 17% say social media has helped to change their views about a specific political candidate. Among social media users, Democrats – and liberal Democrats in particular – are a bit more likely than Republicans to say they have ever modified their views on a social or political issue, or on a particular political candidate, because of something they saw on social media (Democrats and Republicans include independents and nonpartisans who “lean” toward these parties.) '(Anderson M. , 2016) If we think about it 20% of social media influence that is a big number in a total. This article also includes some statements from people who really changed their minds based on social media. I highly recommend you to read it! I had no idea that such a high number of people become so easily influenced by what they see. I think that political campaigns on citizens to be less smart and decide according to what they see and hear through Media. But what we hear and see there, is it true? I will not judge Mr. Trump and the selection until I see how he is acting as a president. People act overwhelmingly and without using a brain. I agree with you that this issue is very interesting.
